I was preparing to move my family of five to Melbourne quickly and came over for a reccie before making our final decision.
Carolyn directed me to an excellent property buyer to help me find just the right house, and made arrangements for schools to suit each child. It was great living with her family as we could really get to know the Australian way of life. I think it was money well spent.
Carolyn and her family made us very welcome and helped us build our new life in Melbourne. She had an insight into what we were looking for in a home and schools from the start and helped us find it. I know we made better choices because of her advice.
I had almost given up on going living in Australia because the decisions were all so complicated and nothing made sense – Carolyn cleared the way so that we could make decisions we were happy with. The accommodation and hospitality she provided was better than anything I could imagine.
Carolyn helped with the big things and the little things, not only did she help us with short term accommodation and schools for the children, but she helped me organise my daughter’s piano lessons, converting our driving licences, and showed me that I could negotiate to buy electrical goods below the advertised prices or if I had felt nervous I knew she would do the negotiations for me.
I asked Carolyn to help me at very short notice and she came to the rescue, She helped me sort out which area of Melbourne to live in, and went though all the choices for school. Then she took me round the area so I didn’t get lost. She really cares that you get what you want, and is very good at listening and coming up with solutions.
I cannot imagine trying to settle in without Carolyn’s help – I would have been completely lost – it’s all very well making long distance phone calls, or trying to sort things over the internet – but you can only really get things sorted when you are there. I used to ring Carolyn once a day with details of what I wanted, and when I woke up in the morning an email was there with all the information I needed.
I am so grateful to New Life in Melbourne for their help with relocating, they thought of everything. When I arrived there was a desk full of information for me, reports on schools, arrangements for meeting with the property buyers and reports on car prices, maps, a whole mass of information, it would have taken ages for me to get this together for myself. She took all the problems I had away – I lost my passport and she sorted that, she arranged a hair appointment for me which was great for a bit of relaxation. The pool was just great after a day of job hunting. When I left I felt that Carolyn had shown me everything I needed to see and helped me understand all I needed to understand to make the right decisions.
We've decided to delay the move to Melbourne for a couple of years and will be very excited to meet the family again when we come.
