Accounts

A 30% deposit reserves your accommodation. 
Full payments may be by bank transfer, cash or personal cheque and must clear 4 days before your accommodation commences or we reserve the right to offer the accommodation elsewhere.

Purchases of goods or services from your hosts are payable by bank transfer or cash.

Airport

Melbourne Airport is located at Tullamarine.  Guests should allow one and a half hours travelling time through peak traffic and one hour’s travelling time at other times.

Alcohol

We do not currently have a licence to sell or provide alcohol though it is expected we will be able to sell alcohol to residents by January.

Baby’s Crib

A baby’s crib is available for babies until they can sit, kneel or pull themselves up.  Cost is $30 per stay.

Babysitting

Babysitting can be arranged for you.  At least 24 hours advanced notification is required.

Business Services

Internet use is free of charge for email and web searching.  There is a connection point above the kitchen bench in your apartment.

Unfortunately excessive use, eg. movie downloads or installing new computers, can result in slow speeds as we have a download limit .  If internet use is considered to be excessive the facility will be disconnected.

Photocopying, faxing and courier services may be arranged subject to notice.

Car Hire

We can assist you with bookings for car hire and having the car delivered to your accommodation.

Check-in and Check-out Time

We are aware that travellers may require their apartment earlier or later than standard hotels often dictate.  Our checkin and checkout times are flexible if your apartment is not required for another visitor.

We regret that we cannot welcome guests before 9.00 am; or between 3.15 and 4.30 on school days.

Children’s Entertainment

Indoors:  We have a Playstation 2 available for loan (a small deposit is required), games can be hired from the village shops or you are welcome to bring your own.  We have a small selection of pre-school videos available for small children.

We also have a small library of toys, books, magazines and dvds available for loan which should be returned before departure.

Outdoors:  Is a gated 10m heated outdoor pool for use between November and March.  There is an acre unfenced garden for children to run around and at the bottom of the garden is a footpath leading to the creek.  Young children must be supervised while outdoors.

Please contact us for restaurant reservations, ticket bookings, car hire or airport transfer arrangements or for other services.

Cot Rail

A cot rail is available at no charge for infants to use with the day bed in the main bedroom.

DVD/Video Player

There is an Australian DVD/Video player and a British DVD player in your living room.  We have a small selection of dvds and pre-school videos available for small children.

Fire

Please pay attention to the Fire Safety instructions on the back of your entrance door.  In extreme weather conditions the Country Fire Authority’s recommendations are to leave the property early in the morning.

A small fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen but if a house fire should take hold please leave the property immediately ensuring your party is evacuated and that all doors are shut behind you.  Once you have ensured your party’s safety please raise the alarm for other householders.

Accident

A first aid kit is in your bathroom cupboard.

Should you need to use CPR call an ambulance first on 000.  CPR instructions are on the back of your entrance door and by the pool.

Essentials

Toiletries and other items may be purchased from your host.

External Services

External services are independent suppliers and are booked direct with those individuals at your own risk.

Hairdryer

A hairdryer is supplied in your apartment

Heating and cooling

You can adjust the heating in your property using the thermostat near the rear kitchen window.  The main rooms all have fans for cooling and the apartment is downstairs and has cooler than average temperatures in Summer.

Hours of Service

If you require assistance please contact 0432 423280 between the hours of 7am and 11pm.   We regret that we cannot assist guests during the times 7.30am to 9.30 am; and 3.15pm to 4.30pm on school days.  We may be absent from the property at certain times.

We live in a lovely rural and residential area where peace is important to guests and neighbours.  Please respect our neighbours and your hosts by keeping reasonable hours, ie. no barbecues before 7am and no regular use of the outdoor areas after 10pm - please ask if you expect to be enjoying the outdoor facilities including the barbecue area after this time. 

Housekeeping

Towels are changed on request and sheets changed weekly.  If you wish your linens to be changed at an earlier time please contact 0432 423280.

Information

A map book is provided in the apartment with local amenities highlighted.  We can provide you with additional maps and directions and make recommendations for sightseeing and local restaurants.

Laundry

A washing machine, airer, iron and ironing board are supplied in your apartment.  A hills hoist is located outside your apartment for your sole use.

For guests who book the third bedroom and shower room/laundry, an additional washing machine and condenser dryer are also supplied.

If you would prefer your laundry to be done for you a coloured or white load can be washed, dried and ironed for you and returned within 24 hours for a small charge.
Alternatively I can arrange an external dry cleaning service for you.

Length of Stay

Normally we prefer a minimum of two nights reservation but one night’s accommodation may be arranged at short notice

Messages

Incoming mail will be delivered to your apartment. 

Movies and Games

We are happy to hire out dvds from our own collection during your stay.  

Parking

There is ample parking at the property.  Car parking is 30-40m from the apartment entrance.

Public Transport

The apartment is within a few minutes drive of Mitcham and Ringwood East stations and bus links to the city and other suburbs but it must be noted that the nearest bus stop is a 15 minute walk from the property.

Provisions

If you order breakfasts, you will find provisions in a hamper and in your fridge.  These will include milk, juice, bread, butter, jams, cereals, tea, coffee and sugar as well as bacon and eggs, sausages and baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes or other variations.  We will do our best to supply you with preferred and readily available items.  For example you may prefer skinny milk, apple juice, multigrain bread, muesli, flora, strawberry jam and may loathe baked beans and mushrooms.  Just ask and we will do our best to provide!

Radio

There is an ipod docking station/alarm clock in the main bedroom and a cd/radio alarm clock in the second bedroom.

Room Service/Afternoon Tea and Coffee

If you can give us two hours notice we’ll be happy to provide tea or coffee with your choice of freshly made sandwiches, cake or scones for your enjoyment by the pool or in your apartment.

Alternatively can even make up a picnic hamper for you if you can let us know by 3pm the day before you would like the hamper.

We have a a no smoking policy at the property

Swimming

The pool may be used until 9pm.  Please ask if you would like to use the pool later than this.

Utilities

Wherever possible we conserve water and power.  The Victorian government advocates showers of 4 minutes or less.  Please switch off lights and fans as you leave the apartment. 

Electrical current is 240 volts.  For the convenience of UK travellers a UK power board is available in your apartment, for other travellers you will need an adaptor.  Any item with another voltage will need a transformer to operate properly.

Visitors

We understand that you may wish to invite your own guests to visit with you.  Please let us know when extra guests may be expected and be aware there will be a charge of $10 per person per day for use of the facilities.
